Fsb: Criminal proceedings for armed insurrection dropped
Meanwhile, the Russian authorities have announced the closure of the court case over the armed revolt that began after the rebellion led by militia leader Wagner. The decision is related to the order to the troops to stop the advance towards Moscow. During the investigation – the Federal Security Service (FSB) said, citing TASS – it was found that the participants in the revolt had stopped their “criminal activities”.
“During the investigation into the case of the armed uprising, initiated on June 23 by the investigative department of the FSB under Article 279 of the Russian Criminal Code, it was established that on June 24 the participants stopped their directly directed actions committing a crime”.
“Taking into account these and other circumstances relevant to the investigation, the investigative authority decided on June 27 to issue a dismissal measure.”
LUKASHENKO
“I’m not hiding it. It was painful to witness the events in southern Russia. “Not only I, many of our citizens took them to heart, because the Fatherland is one,” said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Against the background of the march towards Moscow organized by the Wagner group, Lukashenko added, “the Belarusian opposition was already ready to implement the scenario of an armed uprising,” but “there was a false start.”
Lukashenko gave his army “orders to be ready for battle” after the Wagner Group armed uprising heading towards Moscow. This was stated by the Belarusian leader himself at a meeting with security leaders. “I have given all the necessary orders to put the army on full combat readiness. We must be stronger than the threats looming over our land. And the threats are coming from the West again,” he added. “The threat from the west looms over Belarus,” but Minsk “has the technical capabilities to counter it.”
