Even Prince George takes inspiration from Kate Middleton’s wardrobe.

The 9-year-old was spotted on a festive family outing in Lapland, Britain, with the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Charlotte and their nanny in a photo shared to Instagram by royal blog From Berkshire to Buckingham on Sunday – and it it turned out that the young prince was wearing one of his mother’s old winter hats.

George, who was pictured carrying a stuffed animal, wrapped up in a navy down jacket and the same bobble hat that Middleton, 40, wore for a series of snowy family photos in the French Alps in 2016, according to Royal Fashion Police and Instagram account Solid Moonlight.

The navy blue style with a polar bear and snowflake pattern was designed by Eisbär, the company that makes beanies for the Austrian ski team, and retailed for $60 at the time.

In addition to Mom’s hat, the second in line to the throne wore jeans and Nike trainers as he walked alongside his nanny, Maria Borrallo, across the holiday attraction’s parking lot.

Proud father Prince William, 40, also kept it casual in jeans and a similar style of Nike kicks, clutching a stuffed dog (for Prince Louis maybe?) and sporting a green jacket and a flat cap while Princess Charlotte, 7, went for a stroll went step back in a look also inspired by her mother.

The young queen wore a mini version of Middleton’s brown Penelope Chilvers Tassel Boots ($375) — the same pair she chose for the family’s 2020 Christmas card — along with maroon leggings and a navy blue jacket as she presented her own stuffed animal hugged the photo.

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales trailed behind the others, sporting what appeared to be a Mackage Mai wrap coat ($950) and a turtleneck, along with her trusty Blundstone Chelsea boots ($230) and a hat with a furry bobble above.

George’s mummy-and-me hat moment follows two recent appearances by the prince, who joined his family for the Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey on December 15 and the traditional Christmas Day church walk.

With his parents taking on more prominent roles following Queen Elizabeth’s death last September, royal fans are likely to see more of the young prince (and his cute style) in 2023.
