Prince Harry has accused Jeremy Clarkson of inciting violence against women over his column dreaming of Meghan’s ‘cheap parade’.

Prince Harry has accused Jeremy Clarkson of inciting violence against women in a “cruel” column in The Sun and dreaming of a “shame parade” for Meghan.

In an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby to promote his new memoir Spare, Harry referenced comments from former Top Gear presenter Clarkson, 62, who wrote that he “hated” the Duchess of Sussex and dreamed of having they would be paraded through British cities and publicly shamed.

Harry said: “If we talk about accountability… Jeremy Clarkson’s article not only has what he said horrible and hurtful and cruel to my wife, but it is encouraging to other people in the UK and around the world, especially men to go and think that treating women like that is acceptable.

“To paraphrase my stepmother recently, there is a global pandemic of…violence against women.”

Harry added: “It’s not about me asking for accountability anymore, but at this point the world is asking for accountability and the world is asking for some form of comment from the monarchy, but the silence is deafening.”

The Sun apologized after the article – in which Clarkson said “everyone my age thinks the same way” – became the Independent Press Standards Organization’s most-complained article.
