Hollywood stars Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly hired Sony Pictures alumna Fara Taylor to head up marketing for their new media company, Archewell.
Variety reported that Taylor, the former vice president of global marketing partnerships at Sony Pictures, joined Duke and Duchess as head of marketing in September 2021.
She reportedly oversees all global marketing efforts at the company for Archewell’s three businesses: Archewell Productions – which has an exclusive deal with Netflix, Archewell Audio – which has an exclusive content deal with Spotify, and the non-profit Archewell Foundation.

Taylor reportedly joined the Archewell team — which also includes COO Mandana Dayani, Executive Director James Holt, Head of Content Ben Browning, Head of Archewell Audio Rebecca Sananes, Head of Unscripted Chanel Pysnik, and Senior Vice President of Scripted Television Nishika Kumble — after she spent over a decade at Sony Pictures.
While there, Taylor worked on a number of high-profile projects, including marketing for blockbusters such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and several James Bond films.
Taylor began her career at management consultancy Accenture and worked in marketing positions at Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Animation before joining Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2011, according to her LinkedIn, which still lists her as Sony’s vice president of global marketing partnerships.
Taylor is also a founding member of I am a voter, a civic nonprofit founded by Archewell’s current COO, Dayani, who joined the team just three months before Taylor.
Dayani reports directly to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to Fortune Magazine, and oversees the company’s growth strategy and day-to-day operations.
She said at the time that she joined the company because “I am so inspired by the vision and unwavering commitment of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to create a more united, honest, safe and just world.
‘I’m thrilled to build on our shared mission to drive systemic cultural change.’

Although it was founded in 2020, the company is only now starting to produce content.
It announced it is working on two projects with Netflix — an animated series, Pearl, about a 12-year-old girl inspired by influential women in history, and Heart of Invictus — a docuseries about the 2014 Prince Harry global adaptive sports competition founded.
The docuseries is set to air sometime this year, according to Netflix, and will show contestants training for the sporting event and overcoming life-changing injuries or illnesses.
“This series will give communities around the world a glimpse of the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors as they head to the Netherlands next year,” Prince Harry said in a statement last April.
“As Archewell Productions’ first series with Netflix in partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation, I couldn’t be more excited about the journey ahead or prouder of the Invictus community that continues to inspire global healing, human potential and ongoing ministry.”
A few months later, Meghan also announced she would be teaming up with Elton John’s husband David Furnish for the animated series in July, saying in a statement about the show: “Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl finds herself on a journey of self. Discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges.
“I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, in partnership with Netflix’s powerful platform and these incredible producers, will bring together this new animated series that celebrates extraordinary women throughout history.”
Meghan didn’t name any of the women who will take the spotlight on the series – but she added that both she and David are “eager to bring this particular series to light,” concluding, “I’m delighted that we can announce them today .’

‘archetype’: what is the dictionary definition?
- Cambridge: ‘Typical of an original from which others are copied.’
- Oxford: ‘The most typical or perfect example of a particular type of person or thing.’
- Merriam-Webster: ‘The original pattern or model of which all things of the same type are representations or copies.’
The company has also announced that it will launch its first Spotify series – a podcast about female stereotypes – this summer.
Last week, Archewell Audio released its first trailer for the podcast, in which Meghan will speak to historians, experts and women who have experienced typography. She vows to “investigate labels that try to hold women back.”
“This is how we talk about women: the words that educate our girls and how the media reflects women back to us. But where do these clichés come from? And how do they keep popping up and determining our lives?’ Says Meghan in the trailer.
Previewing the type of guests who will be performing, the Duchess adds: “This is Archetypes – the podcast where we dissect, explore and subvert the labels trying to hold women back.
“I will have conversations with women who know all too well how these typifications shape our narratives.”
