Former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter claims Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage will last “years, not decades.”
“I would measure the length of marriage in years rather than decades,” Carter, 74, told the Sunday Times in a new interview.
“I think she outshone poor Harry and got what she wanted: notoriety, money and a title. His usefulness to them diminishes daily.”
Carter is also betting that Markle, 42, will not return to acting. The Duchess of Sussex famously starred in the drama Suits before marrying 39-year-old Harry in 2018.
“If there’s a ‘Real Housewives of Montecito’ show in the works, it would be a showstopper,” sneered Carter, Vanity Fair editor from 1992 to 2017.

The Post has contacted Sussex officials for comment.
Carter’s predictions come as the royal couple was spotted at the final performance of Katy Perry’s “PLAY” residency at the Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The couple, who have been together since 2016 and retired from royal life in 2020, also recently attended a mental health conference in New York, where Markle said that, along with motherhood, marriage to Harry is one of the “most important things in my whole life.”
Markle made the statement, saying she is terrified of the day her two children – Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2 – start using social media.
“Even though our children are very young as parents, they are two and a half and four and a half years old… but social media is not going away,” Markle explained.
“I think there was an entry point from the start that was supposed to have a positive impact on creating a community, and then something developed.”
Researchers have found that discussions about Harry and Markle on social media tend to be negative.

Carter’s comments also follow remarks from a royal journalist who argued that Harry had become completely “dependent” on Markle “for his social life.”
“I get the impression that in Montecito, where there are a lot of older people, he doesn’t have a circle of drinking friends to relax with and I’m sure that’s taking its toll,” author Phil Dampier told The Mirror last week .
“He has lost not only his family, his royal status and his military connections, but also many friends,” he added, saying that Harry had paid “a huge price” when he left the UK.
