Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were torn when it came to naming their son Archie.

While attending a children’s reading session during the royal couple’s trip to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, Markle shared with another parent who brought their son Harrison to the event.

Sherry McBain, a nursing officer with the RAF and a competing member of the Invictus Games, said her wife Mandy spoke to Markle about how their two sons share the name “Harrison”.

Harry, 37, and Markle, 40, welcomed their son Archie Harrison on May 6, 2019. Two days later he made his debut in the world.

McBain shared that Markle was “really open” and “very friendly” at the event. She shared that her son Harrison was “just overjoyed to have a princess read him a story, it went down really well with all the British kids”.

Harrison showed the Duchess of Sussex some of his own artwork.

“Harrison drew pictures and told her it was a picture of a streetcar,” McBain shared. “I don’t think it really looked like a tram, so she was very gracious and said, ‘That’s a brilliant tram,’ so he was hooked.”

Interacting with the kids clearly had an impact on both Markle and Harry. During Saturday’s opening ceremony, Prince Harry shared his son’s potential career aspirations with the crowd.

“When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it’s an astronaut, other days it’s a pilot – obviously a helicopter pilot – or Kwazii from Octonauts,” Harry said jokingly. “If you laugh, then you’ve seen it.”
