Prince Harry is set to give another interview today ahead of the release of his memoir, Spare, which takes a deep dive into the behind-the-scenes conflicts within the royal family.

The Good Morning America interview follows the ‘disappointing’ reviews from the Duke’s ITV interview with Tom Brady, despite dealing with an explosive range of topics.

Prince Harry addressed a wide range of allegations in his most recent in-depth interviews, from claims of “racism” in the royal family and his feud with brother William to Camilla’s marriage to King Charles.

During a conversation with Bradby, Harry denied an allegation that he and his wife accused the royal family of racism during their interview with Oprah, instead claiming “that’s what the British press said”.

When asked directly if he would call conversations allegedly about the color of his and Meghan’s son Archie “racist,” Harry said no. “I wouldn’t do that as I wouldn’t have lived in that family,” he said, adding that he would instead call the comments evidence of “unconscious bias.”

Prince Harry’s ITV interview scores ‘disappointing’ ratings

Viewership figures for the ITV interview with Prince Harry have been released.

The Duke’s full-length interview with Tom Bradby, which aired on ITV last night (January 8), was watched by 4.1million people in the UK – around a third of the 11.1million people who watched the Oprah interview of him and his wife Meghan Markle in 2021.

Rating performance was described as “disappointing” by US entertainment magazine Deadline.

In the interview, Harry recounted controversial and surprising excerpts from the book that one royal biographer says could mark “the beginning of the end” of the monarchy.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could step back for the rest of the year after their story was heard

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could step back for the rest of the year as they have both told their sides of the story, the author of a biography of the couple has said.

Omid Scobie, co-author of Finding Freedom, said the candidness of Harry’s memoir Spare is the result of a man who has spent his life “unable to share a word of it”.

But he added that there isn’t really much more to say and so royal observers can expect a postponement in the coming months.

Speaking of Harry, Mr Scobie told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “He has watched over and over again as other people tell this story, including journalists like me.

“I think this is Harry finally wanting his voice in the historical royal record.

“Obviously that has some downsides for those who were part of his journey. We’ve heard some truly chilling confessions and stories about members of the royal family, especially when it comes to Camilla and her relationship with the press.

“It’s really just Harry pulling back the curtain. I guess we’re actually getting the look behind the palace walls that we’ve always wanted.”

Mr Scobie said Harry was clearly “very confident in the story he’s telling” and it’s taken him a long time to get to this point.

Mr Scobie was asked if he felt Harry and Meghan’s team want to continue like this and he said he thinks the pair “have to be quite cautious at the moment”, adding that they are very much counted on has focused on private life and her brand is “a lot of drama” and a “soap opera” that has been played in public.

“I think for the rest of this year we’re going to see some pull back from what we’ve seen over the past few months.

“They both shared their sides of the story. Harry in many ways more, in more ways than we could have ever imagined.

“There really isn’t much more to say and so I think we’re going to see a shift in the coming months. However, when it comes to talking about reconciliation, it’s very difficult after the amount he’s shared in this book,” he said.

Princess of Wales celebrates her birthday on the eve of Prince Harry’s memoir

The Princess of Wales is celebrating her 41st birthday just a day before the Duke of Sussex’s controversial memoir hits shelves.

Kate, whose birthday is January 9, is likely to mark the day in a private family way amid a time of fracture and turmoil for the royal family.

A spate of inflammatory claims have emerged from Harry’s telltale autobiography Spare, which was leaked and also went on sale early in Spain ahead of its official release on Tuesday.

But it’s not the first time Kate’s birthday has been overshadowed by bombastic revelations from the Sussex warehouse.

Harry and Meghan made the shocking announcement that they would step down as senior members of the royal family on January 8, 2020.

Kate celebrated her 40th birthday last year by sharing three stunning images of her dancing in Alexander McQueen dresses, captured by famed fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.

This year comes Kate’s birthday after intimate details about Harry’s life and family, including claims about his sister-in-law, emerged from his new memoir.

Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have both declined to comment, but the book is seen as irreparably damaging to Harry’s fragile relationship with his brother – a future king.
