Prince Harry will now have to quit if he wants

Prince Harry will now have to “quit” if he wants to visit King Charles as the Duke of Sussex was “denied a room at Windsor Castle” during his recent trip

It has emerged that Prince Harry will now have to give notice if he wants to visit the king and stay at royal properties after being denied a room at Windsor Castle earlier this month.

The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex flew to London for the WellChild Awards earlier this month and asked if he could stay in Windsor while his father Charles stayed at Balmoral to mark the anniversary of the Queen’s death.

It is believed Harry planned to stay at Windsor Castle so he could visit the Queen’s resting place at St George’s Chapel the next day.

However, his application was rejected on the grounds that there were no properties available in the short term.

Buckingham Palace is also believed to have told the Duke that he would have to make an “official request” to see his father during his visit. It is unclear whether King Charles was aware of this correspondence.

According to the Telegraph, Harry, who is due to return to the UK in January, will continue to be allowed to stay in accommodation in Windsor in the future, but only if “appropriate warning” is given.

At the time he was offered the opportunity to stay with his father Charles at Balmoral on the anniversary of the Queen’s death on September 7, but his busy travel schedule made this impossible.

Instead, he stayed in a hotel in the south and celebrated the occasion on his own. It was Harry’s first visit to the UK since he and Meghan were evicted from Frogmore Cottage – leaving them effectively “homeless” in the UK.

Harry was later pictured at a short vigil at the Queen’s resting place in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

News of the situation comes as Harry and Meghan continue to build their profile in the US.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were all smiles as they made a surprise appearance on Kevin Costner’s One805 Live! charity event for first responders on Friday, held at his $26 million polo field in Santa Barbara.

The couple were joined by their good friends Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres as they took another step towards Hollywood royalty.

The fundraiser, where “last chance” tables cost $12,000, was held at Kevin Costner’s oceanfront estate in Summerland and featured notable guests including Katy Perry’s parents.

Harry wore black, while Meghan opted for a sophisticated, chic look, in a monochrome jacket and with her hair tied back in a “clean girl” style.

Upon their arrival, the Duke and Duchess – who had just returned from a PDA-filled appearance at the Invictus Games in Germany – were seen backstage chatting with Costner, his VIP guests, and senior police and fire officials.

Charles and Queen Camilla are believed to be currently in Balmoral after returning from France yesterday.

The king waved to the crowd as they boarded the royal plane at Bordeaux-Merignac airport to depart for Britain.

Their Majesties concluded their three-day French state visit to southwest France, where September showers did not dampen their spirits.

The king enjoyed the odd live drink as he toured a chaotic festival after a ride on an electric tram. As he walked past the stalls in Bordeaux’s main square, he was persuaded to take a sip of whiskey made from his own barley.

A few moments later he went into another tent where he was persuaded to try some organic red wine. He also chose a piece of cheese to pack and said he couldn’t leave without having some local cheese.

He and the Queen also arrived at the Place de la Bourse by electric tram after leaving a reception on board the frigate Iron Duke.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew appeared to be in high spirits as he enjoyed a tranquil horse ride through the grounds of Windsor Castle today.

The Duke of York, 63, was accompanied only by a groom on his typical Saturday morning outing, which his brother Prince Edward sometimes attends.

Andrew and his riding companion chatted animatedly during the outing, with the father-of-two smiling broadly in a purple crew-neck sweater and riding breeches.
