Rumors of Prince William’s alleged affair were hot news (again!) on Thursday, when a Deuxmoi post got everyone talking. With all this gossip, it’s important to remember that the Instagram account offers unverified stories, so take what you’re about to read with a grain of salt.
The anonymous Deuxmoi submission tells a “salacious” story about an “extramarital affair by British Royalty” which they claim is an “open secret in London and among English aristocrats”. The insider continued, “At a recent media party, I was told the real reason for the affair was the king’s love of pegging, which the woman is too old-fashioned for.” (Read a definition of pegging HERE.) They go on to say that “the woman has nothing against her [the affair partner] and indeed her husband prefers to have his sexual needs met elsewhere, as long as they don’t get emotional, which was the case with the last wife.” This tidbit seems to resonate with royal watchers everywhere who point the finger they show the Cambridges and their reported marital strife following William’s alleged affair with Rose Hanbury.

Of course, this juicy story only fueled Twitter, where “#PrinceWilliamAffair” and “#PrinceofPegging” were trending all day on a global scale. It also gave fuel to the fanbases (Team Cambridge vs. Team Sussex) to voice their opinions on the somewhat shocking story. A Sussex Squad fan dived straight into the heart of the family feud and wrote, “I don’t care if Prince William indulges in extramarital affairs. I don’t care if he likes a little pegging. However, it is important to me that he and his wife have been using Meghan as a distraction from their lives being talked about. In the other camp, a Cambridge family supporter thinks this is a spur to distract from all the recent headlines about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Add to, “#princewilliamaffair & Pegging Trending Today’s a coordinated smear campaign for Prince William after he insulted his brother to lose sight of the news that he was making taxpayers pay in his court. I know William is a very cool person. Many envy Kate. #PrinceWilliamIsAKing.”

However, it’s comedian Richard Jeter who may have won the Twitter war his funny comment“Man, the next season of The Windsors is getting lit and The Crown needs to star in an NC-17 series.” We may never know the truth about Prince William’s alleged extracurricular activities, but it proves that the royal family Less protected than they think – the UK media may look the other way, but social media is changing the PR game for everyone.
