Monarchy pundits and royal fans have slammed Princess Diana after a new documentary about her aired Aug. 13 on HBO.
Directed by Ed Perkins, The Princess takes a look at Diana’s life in the spotlight, using only archived audio and video footage to tell the narrative of her time as Queen, from her courtship and engagement at age 19 to her 32nd -year-old Prince Charles and ended in 1997 with her death in Paris.
A comment on the documentary, published in Times.co.uk, said: “The Princess of Wales’ revenge is complete – 25 years after her death it is heretical to portray this manipulative woman on screen as anything but one depicting beautiful, bullied innocents.”
Most of the people who criticized Diana are often seen praising and supporting Diana’s son, Prince William.
They criticize Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle for stepping back from royal duties.
Meghan and Harry’s friend Omid Scobie shared the poster of The Princess with the caption, which read: “If you put a modern person in an old institution, they will be destroyed. But once an institution starts destroying people, it is time to recognize that something is fundamentally wrong with that institution and not with the people it is destroying.”
