Princess Eugenie is expecting her second child with husband Jack Brooksbank and is due in the summer, it has been announced.
Eugenie, the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, gave birth to their first son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, who is 13th in line to the throne, at London’s Portland Hospital in February 2021.
“Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce that they are expecting their second child this summer.
“The family is thrilled and August is really looking forward to being a big brother.”
Moments later, Eugenie shared an adorable snap taken by her husband Jack showing their baby son kissing her tummy on her Instagram page, writing: “We are so excited to announce that this summer there is a new addition to our family. ‘

Although it is not known where the photo of Princess Eugenie and August was taken, it appears to have been taken with frost on the ground in recent weeks.
In the blink of an eye, the mother-of-one can be seen beaming down at her young son, who is snuggled enthusiastically into her tummy.
It is not known at this time whether she is expecting a boy or a girl.
Eugenie and her husband Jack first started dating in 2011 and confirmed their relationship during an appearance at Royal Ascot that same year.

When Eugenie left London to work for an auction house in New York in 2013, the two were in a long-distance relationship.
At the time, Jack told The Chron: “We spend a lot of time on Skype. It is great. We’re still very much together.’
In 2015, the princess returned to London, where the couple grew closer – and the following year they sparked engagement rumors.
But it was two more years before Jack popped the question while the couple were in Nicaragua in January 2018.
The princess has had a busy few months, appearing at royal events including attending church in Sandringham for Christmas and attending Kate’s carol concert (pictured with her husband Jack).
Eugenie tied the knot with Jack in October 2018 before they welcomed their first child, August, in February 2021.
She announced her first pregnancy in a similar fashion, posting a snap to Instagram at the same time the palace announced the news.
He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and the couple broke with tradition by immediately sharing a black and white photo of their little boy to Eugenie’s Instagram, showing them holding his tiny hand.
She followed the post with three blue hearts after welcoming her son to the luxurious private clinic where Meghan also gave birth to their son Archie.

Eugenie went on to reveal that August’s name was a touching tribute to Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert, whose maiden name was Franz Albert August Karl Emanuel, and Prince Philip, who died aged 99.
She largely kept August out of the spotlight for the first two years, but delighted fans when she shared a video of her son dancing during the platinum anniversary celebrations.
The Duchess of York, 61, previously praised Eugenie’s maternal skills during an interview with Hello magazine.
She revealed: “My kids are phenomenal moms. They were great kids but now they are phenomenal mothers. And now I have these two extraordinary grandchildren in a year.”

The couple also now split their time between the UK, where they sublet Harry and Meghan’s Frogmore Cottage, and Portugal.
Last May, it was reported that they were spending part of their time at CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, a luxury resort an hour south of Lisbon on Portugal’s scenic Atlantic coast.
The move is believed to stem from Jack’s work with real estate magnate Mike Meldman, a longtime business partner of George Clooney.
Eugenie’s husband previously worked for the tequila brand Casamigos, which the actor helped found. It was sold to Diageo in 2017 for £550m. He now works for Mr. Meldman’s Discovery Land Company, which has been developing CostaTerra since 2019.
It comes after Eugenie said she wants her son to be a climate change activist from the age of two and stopped using plastic at home.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, the 32-year-old said the birth of her son in August 2021 “completely changed” her attitude towards the environment.
She said: “My son will be an activist from the age of two, that’s in a few days.
“Everything is for her, right? Every decision we make now has to revolve around how August can live his life.”
Her comments echo interventions from her cousin Prince Harry, 38, who has described how “everything changed” when he became a father because he started asking “what’s the point of bringing a new person into this world.” ‘when she’s your age and it’s on fire?’
Speaking to Portal IMPACT and the Arctic Humanity at Risk Basecamp, the Duke of York’s daughter said being a mother has increased her concern for communities vulnerable to climate change.
Speaking to Portal editor Axel Threlfall and Arctic Humanity founder Gail Whiteman, Eugenie said: “My son will become an activist at the age of two, which will be in a few days. So, he, everything is for her.
“I’ve spoken to Peter Thomson, the UN special envoy for the oceans, and all he says to me is I’m doing this for my grandchildren. And that’s the same.
“Every decision we make now has to relate to whether August, what he can see and do and how he’s going to live his life.
“But I also think as a mother, suddenly you totally change, your hormones change, everything changes.
In an interview with Portal IMPACT and Arctic Humanity at Risk Basecamp, Eugenie said educating her son about the environment was a “struggle”.
She also warned of the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities during an interview during the World Economic Forum in Davos
“Like now, I’m scared of flying and things like that, and I never would have been before.”
Prince Andrew’s youngest daughter said she sees the world differently since becoming a mother and her concerns about climate change have impacted her life.
She revealed: “At home we don’t have plastic, we try to be plastic-free as much as possible and I try to teach him that. But it’s a struggle.”
But the princess also spoke of her hope for the future of the environment, saying: “I like to be ‘glass half full’.”
Eugenie added, “I’d rather be like that, but sometimes the facts and figures and sometimes dinner give you that kind of frustration and doom and gloom.”
And she also warned of the impact of a changing environment on vulnerable communities, adding: “Modern slavery and human trafficking is a really big problem around the world.
“It is estimated that 49 million people live in slavery today and we know that in a vulnerable climate, the most vulnerable people are affected.
“And we will see more and more that every time a crisis hits, people are vulnerable and find themselves in difficult situations.
“So the climate really goes hand-in-hand with that.”
