Priscilla Alcântara, 26, criticized the speech given by gospel singer Bruna Karla, who refused to sing at a friend’s wedding because of her sexual orientation.
“It’s very sad, it’s lazy. It’s wrong on so many levels. Man, every time I open my mouth, my concern shouldn’t be to speak my mind. First of all, this opinion wasn’t made to be given, it was made. You only give yours when asked,” she said on “PocCast,” hosted by Lucas Guedez and Rafa Uccman.
Priscilla, who was also a gospel singer, stressed that there was a lack of empathy in Bruna’s words. “When you speak, you must do the exercise of always thinking about how your speech will reach the next. I think I have to be careful how the things I say affect your life.”
Soon after, she quoted a passage from Scripture to justify why she felt the position was inadmissible.
“Jesus says, ‘I will give you a new testament. Love your neighbor as I have loved you. I don’t live my faith like this: ‘While I’m worshiping God, I’ll kill someone’. There is no such thing as reflecting the God I believe in,” he added.

Bruna Karla caused controversy on the Internet because of her positioning in an interview with Karina Bacchi’s “Positively Podcast”. The gospel singer revealed that she received an offer to sing at a gay friend’s wedding but turned it down.
She also suggested some sort of “healing” for the boy, saying that “what God dreamed for you wasn’t, you forgive me.” The speech angered netizens and the recording went viral on social media.
Bruna Karla has even been criticized by celebrities like Gil do Vigor, Xuxa and Jojo Todynho.
