Priscilla Presley watched as her son Navarone Garcia nearly died from an animal attack just days before her daughter Lisa Marie Presley died last month.
The 35-year-old musician said while visiting an animal shelter outside of Los Angeles with his 77-year-old mother, a camel weighed 2,000 pounds. ‘fell on him’ and ‘put his whole head in his mouth’.
Days later, his half-sister Lisa Marie – the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley – died on January 12 at the age of 54 after suffering cardiac arrest at their home in California.
The Them Guns frontman told People he was feeding the camel, which he estimated weighed around 2,000 pounds. and ran out of food.
The animal, which had previously been abused in a circus, then attacked him.

“When I ran out of food, it bit my hand and nearly knocked me off my feet,” he said.
“Then it dropped me to the ground and threw itself off,” added the film producer’s son Marco Garibaldi. “As it lunged at me, it literally put my whole head in its mouth and bit me.”
Because the camel was so heavy, he said the shelter workers were unable to free it from his grasp until it was fortunately rescued by a dog.
“The dog knew something was wrong and freaked out and got in his face,” he recalled. ‘That’s what the camel tore off.’
Garcia said his mother – who witnessed the attack – “freaked out”.
“She was traumatized,” he said.
The sanctuary had called 911, but he said he decided to drive about an hour back to Los Angeles to go to the hospital instead.
“When we got to the ER, it was funny because everyone was sitting there and they didn’t look too serious,” he said. “By now I was covered in blood.”

Bandmate Kyle Hamood also recalled how shocked he was upon hearing the news and seeing pictures of Garcia’s injuries.
“The photos he sent me didn’t look real,” he said. “I thought he was in a horror movie photo shoot or something.”
Garcia received 34 staples in his head but said he is doing better now.
“I heal quickly,” he said.
“I mean, I was glad I survived before, but now it’s like, thank god I survived,” Garcia said. “My mother would have lost two children in two weeks.”
