The separation of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner not only causes arguments between the former couple, but also a chaotic situation with the extended family.
A source says sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra, who was recently in New York, was particularly shaken by the breakup.
“Sophie and Joe have kept many of their friends apart, but some are caught in the middle of this mess,” the insider told Life & Style.
Apparently, 41-year-old Priyanka is finding it difficult to cope with the tense situation.
“She and Sophie were very close,” the insider said.

“There was once a time when Sophie thought she and Joe were moving to London, as were Nick and Priyanka,” the source explained.
“Priyanka loves Sophie and her nieces and does not want to do anything that would jeopardize their participation in their lives.”
In an interview with Elle in 2019, shortly before Sophie and Joe tied the knot, the Citadel actress said: “I’ve never had a sister before, so it’s really nice to have Danielle and Sophie and just vicarious family to inherit.”
“Sophie is super talented, super funny and we have the most fun when we go out together,” Priyanka continued. “She’s incredible.” When this comes out, she’ll be the new Mrs. Jonas. I can’t wait for her to join the family.’

Joe is reportedly seeking a 50/50 agreement.
Things have already gotten ugly in the legal back-and-forth, and things could get even uglier if the two are forced to air their laundry in a divorce trial currently scheduled for Jan. 2.
A court filing from Joe detailed how the couple’s three-year marriage rapidly deteriorated in August after he reportedly saw his wife insulting him on the Ring camera.
The Only Human artist filed for divorce two weeks later, claiming their relationship was “irretrievably broken.”
Sources close to the singer have reportedly tried to portray Sophie as partying too much and leaving Joe to care for their daughters.
Joe’s lawyer has already announced that he will call several witnesses if the details need to be clarified in court.
The Staircase star responded with her own lawsuit in New York seeking protection under international child abduction laws after Joe refused to hand over the children’s passports for Sophie’s planned return to the UK.

The compromise was that she would remain in New York until the divorce was resolved.
In court documents, the Survive actress claimed the couple sold their Miami home in March and bought a $9 million home near Oxford, England, which they described as their “forever home.”
Sophie went a step further in her Miami court filings, including a letter the musician wrote to the seller of the property in which he raved about the prospect of living there.
The former couple paid a 10 percent down payment of $900,000 on the home on July 7, two months before the split. The final purchase, which was supposed to take place in December, is pending.
