Priyanka Chopra responded to Rosie O’Donnell after the comedian mistakenly claimed to be the daughter of self-help guru Deepak Chopra.
Rosie, 59, posted an apology video on TikTok, revealing that the awkward meeting took place with 39-year-old Priyanka and her husband Nick Jonas at Nobu Restaurant in Malibu, California.
However, Priyanka was unimpressed by the comedian’s seemingly sarcastic apology, where she first expressed regret to her husband Nick, 29, and then called the actress “Chopra’s wife.”

“But if you want to make a public apology for a very awkward face-to-face meeting, I think it’s probably best to take the time to type my name into Google before doing so, or even try to connect directly,” she continued.
Expressing her feelings: Chopra responded to O’Donnell without referring to her via a message shared in her Instagram story on Wednesday, and she began by saying she did not expect to be recognized by the general public immediately
Chopra added: “WE ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be called ‘someone’ or ‘wife’, especially in a sincere apology.”
The singer went on to say that she would like to see future generations of people pay more attention to diversity issues.
“If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world our children will be in will be amazing,” she wrote.
Chopra concluded by writing that her last name is more common than many people would think.
“As I said, not all of Chopra are connected to the great Deepak, just as not all of Smith are connected to the legendary Will Smith,” she wrote.
O’Donnell had taken it earlier TikTok Sunday and explained how she and her party, including her son and his girlfriend and boyfriend Fran Drescher, sat next to the couple in the luxury restaurant, which is a popular place for celebrities.
She noted that “she always guessed” Priyanka was the daughter of a famous author and said so when communicating with her.
