UOL checkLupa, Aos Fatos, Projeto Comprova and Estadão Verify, in collaboration with Meedan, have won the Collaborative Innovation category of Global Fact 10, one of the most important international factchecking events, for the verification of noninformational content on WhatsApp.
The event is sponsored by the worldwide network of examiners IFCN (International FactChecking Network).

The partnership enabled factcheckers to access voters’ top concerns about potentially false content circulating on social media about the process and the 2022 election campaign, via the platform Meedan was developing.
This allowed readers to propose checks directly with agencies and receive automated replies on specific issues previously rejected and registered on the Meedan platform.

“The collaboration was about reaching audiences where they are, through private messaging networks. The coalition of Brazilian testing agencies competed with innovative projects from the Philippines, Belgium and Poland.
