Projection of the AP Top 25 ranking in week 5

Another Saturday, another undefeated top-10 top-10 team goes under after Kansas State’s brave win in Oklahoma. That certainly shakes up the new AP Top 25 rankings from Sunday to the end of September, as several teams notched wins against nationally ranked teams that are expected to move up the poll.

Tennessee topples Florida, 38-33, to land a five-game sled in the rivalry series, coupled with Texas A&M’s win over Arkansas, 23-21 in 10th place, changes the narrative in the SEC after Week 4. That leaves Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky and Ole Miss as the remaining undefeated in the league along with the Volunteers during an unpredictable start to the campaign. It was the second straight win for the Aggies over a top-25 team and put Jimbo Fisher’s team back at the front of the SEC West title race.

Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei enjoyed a career day in the Tigers’ win at Wake Forest, a top-20 team matchup at the helm of the ACC Atlantic. His touchdown passes in overtime helped Clemson prevail and earlier this season set up next week’s winner-take-all showdown with NC State in Death Valley.
