Businessman Vincent Guzzo faces criminal harassment charges –

Prosecution against Guzzo dropped due to “new elements” –

The prosecution for harassment and non-compliance against film mogul Vincent Guzzo was dropped on Monday.

Cinémas Guzzo announced in a press release that the charges had been dropped, a news received “with great relief” by the concerned director.

The businessman was arrested and charged last June over a family dispute. According to our Bureau of Investigation, Mr. Guzzo was first arrested in mid-June before being released under certain conditions.

The man was then arrested again after attempting to communicate with his alleged victim.

The Director of Criminal and Correctional Services (DPCP) did not explain in detail the reasons that led him to drop the charges.

“In Mr. Guzzo’s files, we were made aware of new elements that led to the filing of a prosecution decision (“nolle prosequi”), as we no longer had the conviction or reasonable prospect of conviction necessary to maintain the prosecution the DPCP stated.

For his part, Mr. Guzzo thanked the people who had supported him in recent months, especially his five children.

“I hope I have shown my children that adversity can be overcome with resilience and determination and that nothing should stand in the way of one’s path in life,” he commented.
