On the first day of the event, Duda announced details of the recording period for the remake in Ilhéus, southern Bahia.
“We spent very little time [em Ilhéus], but we did a lot of research into the culture of Bumba Meu Boi. We went to a small church to meet the girls and I met several Maria Santas. It was very interesting to investigate this and get to know these people. There is a lot for us to learn in this Brasilzão,” she saidwho is a romantic partner of Humberto Carrão (José Inocêncio, in the plot).
Carioca, Duda was asked what it was like to play a Bahian and replied: “Being Bahian is much cooler, right? I still have an accent that comes and goes. Sometimes I go to Rio and back to Bahia. Because I spend more time being Maria Santa than being myself,” he said.
Recordings are currently taking place in the picturesque town of Estúdios Globo, formerly Projac, and recordings in Ilhéus have already ended.
Duda also explained that Maria Santa's story will continue to evolve, but it remains a mystery. “So, Holy Mary… She is holy, but she does not perform miracles. We say goodbye to this dimension of the soap opera. But I don't know if I'll let go of this character for good. No, I'm very attached to all of this. “I’m going to leave you with that little bug behind your ear,” he concluded.
