Recently, Sony has started offering its Playstation exclusives to PC gamers. Even though the ports have multiplied rapidly recently, these are mainly games that were released several years ago. And it seems that this gap between releases on Sony devices and PCs remains.

When Sony tackles PC gaming

It has been almost three years since Sony started offering its exclusive Playstation products to PC gamers. The first port was about Horizon: Zero Dawn and titles like. quickly followed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Overor God of War (2018). Latest port: The Last of Us Part Igraphic remake of the first work that caused controversy on PC because of its many technical problems.

But beyond this latest release, previous Playstation games that have come out for PC have generally been well received by gamers who demand more. For its part, Sony has confirmed on several occasions that it wants to continue the deployment on PC, but – quite logically – wants to focus primarily on console players, particularly PS5. Jim Ryan just got back on the subject and recently gave a speech that will likely disappoint many people.

Patience is the mother of all virtues

It’s near Famitsu that Jim Ryan has returned to the PC port of Playstation exclusive games (an interview in which he also returned to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2). First, the President of Sony Interactive Entertainment has already closed the door on possible simultaneous releases on PC and PS4/PS5. He estimates that gamers say they are “for” a PC release two to three years after a release on Sony consoles, adding that the main goal of Playstation studios is to produce games that gamers primarily fallen on the PS5.

We also fully understand the importance of PS5 exclusives. The main mission of Playstation Studios is to provide players with a gaming experience to enjoy on the latest Playstation. We’re increasing the number of PS5 exclusives and then staggering the release of the PC versions.

I often get the chance to ask game fans for their opinion, and when I ask them about this delay, they tell me that the release of the PC version is being welcomed two to three years after the PS version.

Jim Ryan’s statements are likely to disappoint many players who primarily bet on their PC and want to avoid going to the cash register to purchase a home console. Ultimately, playing a Playstation game right after it’s released is very simple: you have to get a Playstation 5. A pity.
