Pusha T puts the pen on the block for his latest unanticipated joint venture.
On Monday (March 21), King Push announced that it has teamed up with fast-food sandwich franchise Arby’s to promote the restaurant chain’s new spicy fish sandwich. Arby’s, known for its variety of roast beef sandwiches, not only has Pusha touting its latest menu, but it also set a diss record, presumably to McDonald’s, which sells the filet-o-fish sandwich.
However, Pusha wasn’t as harsh on Mickey Ds as he was on Drake during their intense feud.
“I’m the reason the whole world loves him / Now I gotta crush him / Filet-o-Fish is *** / And you should be disgusted / How dare you sell a square fish and beg us.” to trust him/Half a slice of cheese, Mickey D’s on piggy bank?/Arby’s crispy fish is just like that/With lines ’round the corner/You might need as a guest list/Exit stage left, the sandwiches taste fresh/A little fish cube from a clown is easy / Say less, this argument is baseless / Drowned in Weinstein that Filet-o-Fish is tasteless / Arby’s only deals in size / I’ll bet the house like it’s Vegas / I could sell water to a whale / How you might think I’d fail / The crispy fish sandwich is paving the way / The other clowns are just too fragile / If you know me and you know me well / Our fish will break these scales,” raps Pusha as Big Boat, chummy with an Arby’s logo, crashes against waves in the sea. Interestingly, although Pusha T appears to be throwing jabs at McDonald’s, it was revealed in 2016 by Steve Stoute that Push wrote the “I’m Lovin’ It” jingle for the Golden Arches franchise in 2004. The tagline, ad, and theme music were all apparently written by the President of GOOD Music. Justin Timberlake also sings on the jingle.
Pusha T isn’t the only rapper to be working with a fast food franchise lately. Fat Joe has teamed up with White Castle, while Travis Scott has launched special food and merch with McDonald’s.
