Putin gives Kim Jong Un a Russianmade car

Russian President Vladimir Putin presented North Korean leader Kim Jong Un with a homemade car as a “demonstration of the special relations” between them, Pyongyang's official press reported.

Kim received “a Russianmade car for his personal use” from Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the official KCNA news agency said.

Kim's influential sister Yo Jong said “the gift is clear evidence of the special relations between the leaders” of the two countries, the agency added.

KCNA did not provide the vehicle model.

North Korea has strengthened ties with Russia since September, when Kim visited the Russian Far East to meet with Putin.

The United States and South Korea claim that at the meeting the two agreed to send North Korean weapons to Russia in return for Moscow's assistance in developing Pyongyang's satellites.

According to the parties, a visit by the Russian president to Pyongyang is expected.

Kim's passion for automobiles is well known and he is often seen in luxury cars such as Lexus or MercedesBenz SClass models.
