Putin “is deeply wrong,” says Wagner boss, who is accused of “treason.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin is “deeply wrong” in accusing fighters of the Wagner paramilitary group of “treason”, his boss Yevgeny Prigoyine said on Saturday, adding that his troops “did not intend to surrender”.

“As far as “treason” is concerned, the President was deeply mistaken. We are patriots,” Prigojine said in an audio recording. “Nobody will surrender at the request of the President, the security services or anyone else,” he added. This is the first time Mr. Prigoyine has personally attacked the Kremlin lord.

The leader of the paramilitary group Wagner also claims to have captured the Russian army headquarters in the city of Rostov “without a shot”.
