Russian President Vladimir Putin is said to be hiding with his lover in a private palace on the shores of Lake Valdai in the north-west of the country.

Alongside this luxurious property, Mr Putin has built a separate €112million villa for ex-gymnast Alina Kabayeva, 31 years his junior, The Telegraph reported on Thursday, citing Russian investigative site Proekt.
The 39-year-old ex-sportsman from Uzbekistan reportedly has four children with the Kremlin champion while both still deny they are a couple, according to the British tabloid.
The construction of the grandiose estate had been unveiled in 2021 by the craftsmen of Russian opponent Alexei Navalny, who had argued that the Russian president had used public funds for this “love mansion”, information confirmed by Proekt.
The heavily guarded mansion, built like a country house with a children’s playground, is decorated with mahogany furniture, huge chandeliers and several other golden accessories, according to images leaked online.
