Putin: Prigozhin rejected integration of mercenaries news

According to President Vladimir Putin, the head of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, refused to allow his fighters to be integrated into Russian security forces. Putin told the Kommersant newspaper (Friday edition) that he made the offer at a meeting with Wagner’s leadership five days after the uprising.

Putin said he met with about three dozen mercenaries and their boss. He made an offer to continue serving in Russia. “They could have gathered in one place and continued their ministry and nothing would have changed,” he told the newspaper. Many of the fighters nodded in agreement. However, according to Putin’s description, Prigozhin objected.

“Prigozhin … after hearing it said: ‘No, the guys will not agree to such a decision,'” Putin said. The president reiterated that Wagner’s mercenary group was disbanded: “It just doesn’t exist.”

USA: Wagner is currently not in combat

According to US information, the Wagner mercenary group is no longer significantly involved in military operations in Ukraine. “At this time, we do not see any significant involvement by Wagner’s troops in combat operations in Ukraine,” a Pentagon spokesman said. However, it has been established that “the majority” of the fighters are still in Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, it was said in Belarus that Wagner mercenaries began to work there as instructors in various military disciplines.
