Attack the Russians with their own weapons. For the first time since the beginning of the war, the Ukrainians used their thermobaric weapons stolen from the battlefield against the Russians. According to Sergei Bratchuk, the Ukrainian spokesman for the Odessa region, a TOS1A rocket launcher (the now famous “Puppet) used to drop implosion bombs was fired at Russian troops near Izyum heading towards eastern Ukraine. The Russians call this type of weapon “Scorching Sun” and it was discovered early in the war.

However, stealing weapons from enemies is nothing new for Ukrainians, who defend themselves as best they can. There are many testimonies from soldiers and civilians who appropriate Russian military material. It’s not hard to see peasants using tractors to transport tanks that have become bogged down and abandoned by Putin’s soldiers. The deadly TOS1 was developed by the Soviet Union primarily for use in Afghanistan. But this latest updated version, stolen by opposition soldiers, has far more power. Thermobaric warheads are capable of creating a destructive explosion with a much larger radius than conventional weapons.
