Putin wants "Kherson People’s Republic" proclaim + more heads of government in Kiev

US comic book stars want to use the proceeds of a joint project – estimated at around $200,000 to $500,000 – to help Ukrainian refugees. “Comics for Ukraine: Sunflower Seeds” is the name of the 96-page book by well-known comic book authors, artists and designers, brought together by comic book editor Scott Dunbier.

Created by Alex Ross, the cover of the $60 hardcover version features a blue and yellow Ukrainian David facing off against a faceless Russian Goliath with hammer and sickle. The $40 pocket version comes with three different covers designed by Arthur Adams, Dave Johnson and Bill Sienkiewicz. “I despise Putin,” the latter told Reuters.

Other contributors include Brent Anderson, Sergio Aragones, June Brigman, Kurt Busiek, Howard Chaykin, Joshua Dysart, and Mark Evanier. Some of the stories take place in Ukraine, others are allegorical in nature.
