Putin’s ally admits Russian interference in US elections

Russian businessman and head of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, admitted to meddling in the US elections and said he would continue to do so. “We interfere, we interfere and we will continue to interfere. Carefully, precisely, surgically and in our own way as we know how to do it,” Prigozhin wrote in a post on the VKontakte online network on Monday, the Russian equivalent of Facebook.

“During our one-off operations, we will remove the kidneys and liver at once,” he added, without clarifying the statement. Tuesday’s midterm elections in the United States will elect a new Congress and dozens of governors, in addition to filling thousands of other state and local political positions.

Prigozhin is a close confidant of Putin

Prigozhin is also known as “Putin’s cook”. Your catering company has several contracts with the Kremlin. For years he was in the background. Only recently has he become more public, among other things criticizing Russian generals for their war in Ukraine. In September, he also admitted to being the founder of the Kremlin-affiliated Troupe Wagner, which operates in Syria, Ukraine and Africa. His name is on the EU, UK and US sanctions lists.

In July, the US State Department offered a reward of up to $10 million for information on Prigozhin related to alleged US election interference. He is the first person to face such allegations and admit influence.
