It has been confirmed that Montreal will be one of the first six cities to receive a PWHL franchise and it is the experienced Danièle Sauvageau who could be responsible for building that team.

The new women’s professional ice hockey league will, among other things, replace the Premier Hockey Federation, in which the Montreal Force played. Sauvageau was involved in this project as director of the renowned Center 21.02.
The head coach of the Canadian team that won gold at the 2002 Olympics also served as GM in the PWHPA. Sauvageau held the same position with the Université de Montréal Carabins women’s team.
Gina Kingsbury, the director of the Canadian Women’s Program, would take over leadership of the future organization in Toronto. Michael Hirshfeld (Ottawa), Natalie Darwitz (Minnesota) and Danielle Marmer (Boston) are reportedly set to fill the same positions across the league. No possible candidates have been identified in New York.
