The spectacular and surprising success that the American singer Dave Fenley has experienced in our province since 2022 is now opening doors for him that were once closed to him in his home country.
However, he had been warned that his appearance on the show En direct de l'Univers in November 2022 would change his life, but Dave Fenley was skeptical. A little over a year later and after two grueling Quebec tours, the Texas native has no choice but to give in as American theaters that had doubted him now welcome him to sold-out audiences.
“It's impossible to believe that my success in Quebec wasn't a factor in what happened to me in the United States,” says the country singer, who recently opened the Dosey Doe Big Barn, a 420-seat venue, in Texas stormed.
Even after appearing on two of America's biggest talent competitions, “The Voice” and “America's Got Talent,” Fenley struggled to get noticed in the vast country music market in the United States. “There is nothing better than leaving to come back better,” he states.

Proving his growing popularity, the Till You singer recently hit 100,000 followers on his Instagram account with his cover of Elvis Presley's “Can't Help Falling in Love.” This version and its accompanying music video were released in early February in the run-up to Valentine's Day and earned Fenley more than 50,000 admirers within three weeks.
“My wife is starting to think I’m cool!” he told his followers on Instagram, thanking them for their support.
Moving to Quebec?
Despite all the love and gratitude he feels towards Quebec, the singer is categorical; his family nest will remain in the southern United States.
“My wife's family and mine live in Tennessee, and I don't think anyone would be happy if we moved so far away with our new baby,” explains the father, who often brings his wife and young daughter on stage with him Appearance, for a few songs.

“The plan is to live in Quebec during the tours and festival and then return to the United States.”
Dave Fenley will begin a new Quebec tour at L'Assomption in April. He will visit Montreal and Quebec in the first week of June. His next album, Live From Quebec, culled from shows on his last tour here, should be released before April.
