The weather is likely to unfold Thursday with the arrival of a low pressure system that will bring much instability and precipitation, with stormy episodes over southwest and central Quebec.
In addition to the showers that may persist in certain sectors, the return of this stormy trend, accompanied by strong squalls, poses the threat of a tornado in the Ottawa Valley and St. Lawrence River Valley.
On Thursday, the weather will take on a tropical appearance in the province’s southwest, while 10 to 20 millimeters of rain is expected in Montreal, where humidity with a Humidex 32 will be felt, according to Environment Canada.
The rain system will move towards the middle of the province in the afternoon, where showers will hit certain sectors such as Quebec and Charlevoix, reaching Estrie and Beauce in the evening, according to the federal agency.
Eastern Quebec will be luckier as it won’t be affected by the chaos of this stormy episode at least until Friday morning when the mercury drops under a partly cloudy sky.
On Friday, the weather will be generally sunny in southwestern Quebec, particularly in Montreal where the temperature will be 26 degrees, but there will be showers in the central and eastern parts of the province.
