At 21 years and 94 days, the Dollard-des-Ormeaux goaltender became the fourth youngest goaltender in Sabers history to play a game after Daren Puppa (20 years and 233 days), Tom Barrasso (18 years and 188 days). and Martin Biron (18 years and 144 days).

The rookie made several key saves during the game and the Sabers fans rose from their seats a few times to applaud the exploits of the masked man, who redirected 32 of the 34 pucks in his direction.

Sabers forward John-Jason Peterka scored his 11th goal of the season on a Dylan Cozens setback midway through the first half.

Levi flinched for the first time in his career in the second half when Rangers forward Kappo Kakko spontaneously snapped a puck to thwart the Quebec keeper.

However, the Northeastern University graduate frustrated Kakko when he pulled the Finn’s glove out on a one-timer.

Both teams needed extra time after the Blueshirts leveled the game midway through the third period when defender Adam Fox scored his 12th goal of the season.

It was Sabers forward Jeff Skinner who ended the game by scoring his 32nd of the season in overtime.

With the win, Don Granato’s men now sit five points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins and the final playoff map.

The Jets have fun against the Red Wings

The Winnipeg Jets ended a losing streak with a 6-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings at the Canada Life Center in Winnipeg on Friday night.

Six Jets skaters earned a total of two points during the matchup: Vladislav Namestnikov, Mason Appleton, Blake Wheeler, Nikolaj Ehlers, Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor.

The Detroit team’s only two goals came from Quebec forwards David Perron and Joe Veleno.

That clash also marked the return of forward Andrew Copp to the Manitoba capital.

The Michigan native spent eight seasons with the Jets before being traded to the New York Rangers at the close of last year. Winnipeg’s 2013 fourth-round pick later signed a five-year deal with the Red Wings during the final offseason as a free agent.
