We have really weird parties in Quebec, don’t we?
By sitting with our backs between two seats, we ended up shaping a political landscape that is second to none.
Federalist sovereignists!
Let’s start with QA.
A sovereign party that never speaks of sovereignty!
A nationalist party that only distributes leaflets in English!
A party that calls itself moderate but has a radical program!
A party whose leader is not a leader, but the real leader’s spokesman, hiding from him!
A party that fights against patriarchy but defends the wearing of the veil!
A party that claims to “stand in solidarity with feminist struggles from here and elsewhere”, but which never criticizes the misogyny of Islamist regimes!
An environmental party that apologized for proposing a tax on gas guzzling vehicles!
A party that slays polarization but has radicals in its ranks who see racism and colonialism everywhere!
A party whose spokesman condemns violent speech, while in 2012, when he was leading a popular protest movement, he refused to condemn violent ACTS!
If QS were an animal, it would be a platypus.
A beaver with a duckbill. And a mammal that lays eggs.
Here Darwin, put this in your pipe and smoke!
FEDERALS WHO LOVE SOVEREIGNISTS!
Let’s go to the PLQ.
A party asking a “Committee of Wise Men” to pull it out of the ditch it has sunk in!
A party that thinks it is defending French by allying itself with the English, who condemn any policy aimed at defending French!
A party that believes that the best way to get in touch with the majority is to become the official spokesman for the minorities!
A party whose main strength is the economy, but which hardly ever talks about the economy!
An anti-sovereign party that owed its popularity to the sovereignist movement! And who wants the Sovereignists to get back on their feet to better fight them!
The PLQ is like the guy who plays on musical chairs and as soon as the melody is interrupted, he can’t find a chair to sit on.
The “centre-right Federalist” chair? That’s where the CAQ sits!
The “left federalist” chair? QS is on it!
Wanting to make the big difference between the French-speaking majority and the English-speaking and allophone minorities, the PLQ eventually split in two.
NEITHER YES NOR NO!
Finally the CAQ.
This week, the CAQ centralized the health system to better decentralize it!
Yes indeed!
We reform without reforming!
We distance ourselves from Gaétan Barrette to get closer to him! (Or vice versa, I don’t know.)
We get closer to people by adding a layer of bureaucracy!
We hold the minister accountable by creating an agency responsible for what happens on the ground!
We kneel before Ottawa to get up better!
We strive for excellence by repeating: “It could have been worse”!
This is Quebec.
Neither yes nor no, quite the opposite.

donald trump
Donald Trump has been officially accused of giving money to a porn star to keep quiet about his relationship with her.
Many, including myself, dream of seeing the ex-president in handcuffs. But to bring him to court for such a cavalier? Risk setting the powder on fire and agitating his armed-to-the-teeth troops for such a small crime? I’m not sure if the game is worth the candle…
If we want to arrest him, we’ll do it for calling for a riot, not for giving money to save his marriage!
Save UQAM from UQAM!
More than 1,300 people signed a letter urging the government to ensure UQAM’s survival by increasing its funding.
“We must save the UQAM mission,” they plead.
Perfect. But in addition to more generous funding, the venerable institution of the Latin Quarter also needs to restore its image.
Because in many people’s minds, UQAM is less a university and more a recruitment factory where, in the words of Philippe Lorange, a master’s student in sociology at UQAM, “small scale militants” mess things up and vandalize premises without vandalism someone to put them in their place.
What if we ALSO saved UQAM’s educational mission?
The mistake of the year 2023
Problems with the computerized payroll system for Quebec civil servants are likely to continue for a number of years.
For what? Because the civil servants will soon sign a new collective agreement. And that the system was programmed according to the old model!
Was it not to be expected that new collective agreements would be concluded over the years?
Wow.
Who needs artificial intelligence when you have natural stupidity?
