“I finished the script for my last film”, said the director of “Pulp Fiction”, “Kill Bill” or “Inglourious Basterds”, interviewed by the Delegate General in Paris on the occasion of the release of his new essay “Cinema Speculations” (Flammarion). was the Cannes Film Festival, Thierry Frémaux.

“I think I’ll probably shoot it in the fall,” he added, adding that any rumors that may have existed about this film are just speculation.

The film, titled The Movie Critic, will be set in 1977, he simply stated. It “is not dedicated to a film-critical journalist” and “is not a biographical film by Pauline Kael”, a critical figure of the New Yorker who died in 2001, as certain media were recently able to evoke.

The director of films full of cinephile references, Tarantino, 60, already pays homage to the American cinema of the late 1960s and early 1970s that he loves in his ninth and latest film, Once upon a time in… Hollywood (2019).

He has repeatedly said that he would like to retire after making ten films (counting the two volumes of Kill Bill as one), further raising his fans’ expectations for this upcoming work.
