Radio-Canada vice-president Michel Bissonnette would resign

CBC/Radio-Canada’s senior vice-president of French services, Michel Bissonnette, plans to resign on Tuesday, Le Soleil newspaper reported Monday evening.

The daily did not give the reasons for this surprising resignation, but reported that the news spread within the state-owned company on Monday.

Mr. Bissonnette’s possible resignation was not confirmed by the public broadcaster.

As Senior Vice President, Mr. Bissonnette is responsible for the French-language programs on ICI Télé, on the specialty channels ICI ARTV, ICI Explora, ICI RDI, on the Tou.tv portal and on the radio stations. Premiere HERE and music HERE.

Michel Bissonnette joined Radio-Canada in 2017 after holding leadership roles at Videotron and TVA. He also co-founded the content production company Zone3.
