Russia takes part in the media marathon
MOSCOW, April 2 (RHC) The Russian YouTube channel Europe for Cuba will take part in the worldwide broadcast of the media marathon against the blockade against the Caribbean island from today until tomorrow, Sunday.
Channel coordinator Elena Lozhkina, head of the Russian Blockade Lifting Committee, explained that well-known national bloggers like Konstantin Semin, as well as representatives of the island’s embassy in Moscow, politicians and activists will take part in the program in solidarity with Cuba.
The leaders of the Communist Parties of Russia and Israel, representatives of the World Peace Council, the International Eurasian Movement, journalists from Russia and India also announced a meeting.
He explained that the program expects the presence of Cuban friends in Greece, Germany, the United States, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Estonia and Brazil, as well as follow-up by the country’s media.
Ever since the broadcaster Europa por Cuba launched the call, its Russian brother has joined the “24 hours against the blockade” initiative, which has also been joined by the most diverse forces of international activism, which have over 60 years of US policy towards the island refuse , said Loshkina.
The voices of solidarity from social networks such as YouTube and Telegram, radio, television and alternative media should be continuously united to make visible that the “Island of Freedom”, as it is called in Russia, is not alone.
Russia has historically opposed United States policy toward Cuba, a position it also demonstrates each year by voting on the island’s resolution before the United Nations General Assembly.
In addition, the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) unanimously adopted 19 resolutions condemning Washington’s economic, commercial and financial siege of this country (source: PL).
