Quito, April 5 (RHC) The Ecuadorian judiciary has decided to take interim measures in favor of the President of the National Assembly, Guadalupe Llori, avoiding the creation of a commission to evaluate her management.
The head of parliament had requested the objection the previous day to prevent the plenary from agreeing to the formation of a multi-party team proposed by the Union for Hope (UNES) alliance to examine possible functional violations on your part and the federal legislative board.
The Court’s opinion arrived minutes before the start of that day’s meeting, which requested an amendment to the agenda to deal with the request for the establishment of the Commission.
Faced with the new scenario, UNES supporter Fausto Jarrín refrained from maintaining his claim, but regarded the action of the agency’s chief director as a circus.
The leader of the Democratic Left faction, Marlon Cadena, reiterated that the court decision gives the factions the opportunity to clarify issues related to the formation of the commission.
Julio César Sarango, legal adviser to the legislature, assured that the precautionary measure is not contestable, but it can be in the event of new events occurring when the risk of infringement ceases to exist.
The President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, also spoke about the existing crisis within the body.
“I’m not the one to say whether to stay in his position,” he assured Llori’s situation, adding, “What happens in this chamber is their problem.”
At the moment, the next actions from the different benches agreed with the creation of the team are unknown.
Today’s session will be devoted to dealing with the President’s veto on the Rape Abortion Act.
Parliament has been confronted with an institutional problem since it began its work last May, since the election of the authorities.
