Radio host Lauren Phillips announces her engagement to multimillionaire jet tycoon friend Paul O’Brien after nightmarish proposal: ‘I thought he was joking’
KIIS FM presenter Lauren Phillips announced her engagement to multi-millionaire and jet tycoon boyfriend Paul O’Brien live on air on Monday.
The 41-year-old TV and radio host shared the exciting news with her Jase and Lauren co-host Jase Hawkins and opened up about the surprising and awkward romantic European proposal.
“We went to Europe for the holidays. “We spent a few days in Rome, just the two of us, and I figured if he had proposed, it would have been both of us,” she began.
“Then we went to Mykonos and met up with all our friends. Turns out I was the only person who didn’t know about it.” He proposed in front of all of our friends. I had no idea and the next moment he was on one knee.
The brunette beauty said the public proposal was such a surreal experience that she initially thought Paul was just teasing her.

“I think I thought he was joking. It was an out of body experience. I don’t think I even looked at the ring. I just hugged him and cried, and then we got up and we all celebrated.
She couldn’t contain her delight as she discussed the ultra-romantic proposal.
“Everyone said, ‘You didn’t say yes,’ and I was like, ‘Of course it’s a yes!’ We then called my family, who were at home at the time. He asked my father. “He’s a gentleman,” she added.
