The management of the Cogeco channel confirmed to La Presse on Wednesday that the recovery of its star presenter was finally over.
Recall that Arcand retired from the radio station on November 13 for medical reasons. Louis Lacroix took over the interim position this fall and is currently on morning mic for the holidays.
During the “King of the Airwaves” absence, 98.5’s flagship show lost some listeners. However, since we have to rise, we remained at the top of the ratings in the Montreal region, according to the latest survey by the company Numeris, published in early December.
Paul Arcand will only return to his position for a few months. He will leave 98.5 in June 2024, after 20 years in the station's “Morning Man” chair. At the start of the fall school year, he will be replaced by La Presse columnist Patrick Lagacé, who has been leading the program Le Québec neuf since August 2019.
