Two Australian radio stars have revealed their “epic failure” to meet the son of Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
On Tuesday’s episode of The Jimmy and Nath Show, the hosts told a harrowing story about how they accidentally mistook the future King of Denmark, Prince Christian, for an overzealous fan.
Jimmy and Nath said they had worked on breakfast radio in Tasmania for five years while also presenting local football matches.
A boy came up to them with a jersey and they thought he was just a fan, so they said, “Yeah, buddy, we’ll take a picture with you.”
“The next morning, this picture is on the front page of the local newspaper and I say, ‘Oh man, we did it,'” Nath said, adding that it was only then that he realized he had taken a photo with Prince Christian of Denmark had .

They then expressed their regret that they had not looked after the young king more, as they probably could have gone to his 18th birthday party at the weekend, where the prince’s mother, Mary, proved that she still knows , how to celebrate.
The Danish royal family celebrated Christian’s 18th birthday at Christiansborg Palace on Saturday.
Mary wore a sparkling floor-length black dress for the occasion and completed the look with a stylish updo, her wedding day diamond tiara and a royal blue sash.
But the formal look didn’t stop her from getting involved as Queen Margrethe revealed her grandson’s birthday surprise: a private rock concert at the palace.
The Tasmanian-born princess and mother of four clapped enthusiastically and grinned on stage where popular Danish rock star Benjamin Hav jammed with his band The Family.
The 51-year-old’s family followed her example and were just as impressed by the surprise performance as she showed off her best moves on the dance floor.
Crown Prince Fredrick, dressed in full ceremonial attire and wearing his traditional blue sash with his medals, also danced up a storm on the night.
Prince Christian could hardly contain his excitement and grinned broadly as he shook his head wildly in time with the music.
His little brother Prince Vincent, 12, bounced around next to his brother and enjoyed the big birthday party.

The young people were also joined by other European royals at the party.
The concert followed the official gala dinner and the prince’s balcony appearance with his parents and the queen.
The video of the concert was posted on the palace’s official Instagram account and thrilled the Danish audience.
And a photo shows that the birthday prince was able to jump on stage and take control of the microphone.

“I am so proud of our royal family.” Wonderful young people, what an experience of a lifetime you have had. What a party,” one person said in awe.
Some criticized the prince’s moves.
“Prince Christian may be king, but Vincent is the king of the floor,” said one fan.
Others said the queen had done well by organizing the concert.
“Greatest queen in the world!” others cheered.
“How cool is Queen Margrethe…. Cool gift for the guests.”
“A lovely gift from a lovely grandmother. She knows how to capture and hold on to youth.”
His little brother’s joy was also captured on camera
