Rain and melting snow will cause the levels of many rivers and streams in the Czech Republic to rise further on Monday. The number of locations where rivers reached one of the flood activity levels rose to more than 170 on Monday morning. The third highest level was recorded in 20 locations, according to the flood website. Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.
Prague is carrying out preventive measures against floods.
The third flood level, at which there is already a life-threatening danger to people and property in the flood area, was recorded around 10.30 a.m., for example, on the Elbe at the Vestřev, Les Království, Stanovice and Brod train stations and at various points on the Orlice, Chrudimka, Doubrava and Sázava rivers .
The only regions not affected by the warning of rising river levels are the south of the South Bohemian Region and the northern part of the Moravian-Silesian Region. In the western part of Bohemia the river situation should stabilize.
