We are counting down the days until Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding, which is due to take place this week. Preparations are already underway as Alia’s managers and security personnel were spotted conducting a survey outside Ranbir’s apartment last week. The couple will be tying the knot in the presence of close friends and family after nearly five years of dating. While the couple was tight about confirmation of their wedding dates, Neetu Kapoor got candid in a recent conversation.
Speaking to ETimes, Neetu revealed that if it had been her decision, she would have happily celebrated the wedding and spoken openly about it. When asked for confirmation of the marriage, Neetu said, “Mujhe kuchh pata nahi hai. I’d love to celebrate and say it out loud, but today’s kids are different. Both are private individuals. Kab kar lenge pata nahi but Hogi Zaroor and I wish Jaldi Ho Jaaye because I love them both. Alia is such a pretty girl. I just adore her. She is a beautiful person. Ranbir and Alia are made for each other. They’re pretty much alike. Ranbir is pure-hearted and incorruptible. He sees things positively. There is no jealousy or negativity in anyone. I see the same quality in her. Both are confident and have nothing bad to say about anyone – even if someone’s film is doing well or looking better. They complement each other.”
Previously, Neetu also revealed the kind of relationship she hopes to share with her future daughter-in-law. Reflecting on her own relationship with husband Rishi Kapoor’s mother, Neetu said, “I hope I will in the future…when they get married. My relationship with my mother-in-law was excellent. She loved me more than her son. We were friends. We talked about everything under the sun and I complained to her about my husband (laughs!). We were very open. I hope I have the same equation with Alia because she is also excellent and amazing.
Ranbir and Alia will be tied the knot two years after Rishi Kapoor’s death. Neetu Kapoor also addressed how the past two years have changed drastically for her. “It takes time to get that confidence back. Maybe I’m not 100 per cent there yet, but I’m getting there. It’s changed me as a person. I’ve gotten stronger. I’ve always been strong with my man, but today I have to taking care of my house, finances etc. My husband used to take care of these things but today I have become the man of the house so I have become stronger than when my husband was alive as I was dependent on him I care about everything,” said Neetu Kapoor.
