Earlier this week, Randy Gregory turned down the Dallas Cowboys and agreed to a deal with the Denver Broncos.
On Sunday, Gregory took to Twitter to rub salt in the wound.
It all started with a simple tweet from Gregory.
“Your opinions don’t pay my bills,” Gregory said. This escalated into Gregory being critical of both his former team and its fans.
Your opinions don’t pay my bills ☝🏾

“Your owners acted in bad faith, all their free time,” Gregory wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “They’ve been awfully quiet lately, haven’t they? I wonder why… I can’t wait for you guys to ask them the same questions!”
Another Cowboys fan noticed that Gregory looked upset.
“Nope. It’s your toxic fan base that believes[s] I owe them and their team something,” Gregory said.
No, it’s your toxic fans who think I owe them and their team something lol.

He doubled down on his fanbase comment in another tweet.
“Let’s be honest, they always [be] toxic. Come on, said Gregory.
It was no secret that the Cowboys’ failed attempt to re-sign Gregory was unusual.
Gregory first agreed to a five-year, $70 million ($28 million guaranteed) deal with the Cowboys. The team even posted a tweet announcing his return to Dallas.
Gregory then changed his mind, deciding to sign the same contract with the Broncos. The Cowboys deleted their tweet shortly after it was posted as the Broncos and others were trolling Dallas on Twitter.
The decision to move from Dallas to Denver was caused by disagreements over some of the language in Gregory’s contract.
Gregory objected to language in the contract that would allow the club to void the deal if he were fined or suspended, sources told The Dallas Morning News. The language is standard on all Cowboys contracts, with the exception of quarterback Dak Prescott, sources said.
When Gregory wasn’t suspended or injured, he showed promise in Dallas, but he didn’t play a full season in the NFL in his career. Last season, he set a career high with six sacks and 19 tackles on 17 quarterback hits.
Since being selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Gregory has earned 16.5 sacks in 50 career games.
