Rangers humiliate Blue Jays

The Texas Rangers set the tone for this important four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays with a commanding 10-4 win Monday night at Rogers Center.

This series is of utmost importance for the Jays, as Texas is not far behind in the rankings of teams drafted in the American League. They are currently half a game behind Toronto.

Additionally, on the men’s side, Bruce Bochy ended the Jays’ three-game winning streak.

The guests opened the score in a strange way in the second set. Starting pitcher Chris Bassitt tried to pin Rangers’ Mitch Garver, who was at third base. However, Bassitt made an irregular feint and Garver was able to score.

The crowd favorite did not let this discourage him in any way and responded by taking turns batting in the second inning. Alejandro Kirk and George Springer each scored a point, giving their team the lead.

This lead was short-lived for the Jays as Rangers centerfielder Evan Carter hit his first career long ball to tie the game in the next inning.

The Texas team took control of the duel starting in the fifth inning when Corey Seager hit a single into center field that allowed Evan Carter to cross the plate.

Rangers catcher Jonah Heim put the game out of reach with a grand slam in the seventh inning. This was his 16th dismissal.

Cavan Biggio’s offensive performance was the only positive point in the game for the Jays. Biggio finished the game with two RBIs and a home run in the ninth inning.

Chris Bassitt has had a pretty rough start for the Jays. The right-hander allowed five earned runs and nine hits in five and one third innings.

The Rays have the upper hand over Edouard Julien and the Twins

The Tampa Bay Rays secured their fourth straight win despite a 7-4 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Yandi Diaz was brilliant in the game for Tampa as he scored four goals.

Quebec’s Édouard Julien went onto the track at one point during the collision.

Despite this win, the Florida team is now two and a half games behind the Baltimore Orioles and at the top of the American League East Section.
