Two rare artifacts from the infamous RMS Titanic will be auctioned this week.
A unique first-class menu from the dinner held on April 11, 1912 (three days before the Titanic sank) will be part of the auction, along with a pocket watch belonging to a second-class passenger, according to U.K.-based Henry Auction House Aldridge and Son Ltd.
“This snapshot of dinner on the evening of April 11 illustrates the glamor and opulent culinary delights that Titanic’s first class passengers would have experienced,” Andrew Aldridge told FOX Business.
TITANIC SURVIVOR described a near-miss moment that sealed the doomed liner’s fate in a letter sold at auction
“[The item] is a remarkable survivor of the most famous ocean liner of all time.”

“This suggests that the menu was exposed to the icy waters of the North Atlantic on the morning of April 15, 1912, either because it left the ship with a survivor exposed to those frigid waters or because it was recovered by one of those lost became. ” was noted in the description of the auction house’s menu.
After discussions with a number of leading Titanic collectors, it was determined that this is the only surviving example of a first-class dinner menu from the night of April 11, according to the auction house.
This evening meal likely served some of the ship’s most distinguished guests, including: John Jacob Astor and Madeleine Astor, Benjamin Guggenheim, Sir Cosmo, Lady Duff Gordon, the “Unsinkable Molly Brown” and Isador and Ida Straus, Henry Aldridge and Son shared on the website with .

“It’s a microcosm of time. When Mr. Kantor went into the cold North Atlantic on the morning of April 15, 1912, the clock stopped and time stood still. It’s a unique piece of history,” Aldridge shared.
The clock contains numerals written in Hebrew numerals and the back of the piece is embossed with a motif depicting Moses with the Ten Commandments, as the collectors described.
