Six hours before announcing their split, Ashley shared a video of her walking around a ranch with the wind blowing through her perfectly coiffed hair.
She composed the soundtrack to the song Sad Girlz Luv Money.
The text “I’m getting paid” appeared on the screen but disappeared as the video started.
Two hours later, she was bobbing her head to another evocative tune – Go! by Common.

Expressing herself: Darby wasn’t shy about the meaning of the song, which was posted shortly after announcing her split from Michael
As the word “go” repeated itself over and over again, Ashley flashed a smug smile at the camera.
She didn’t play shy about the track’s meaning, either, as she briefly raised her eyebrows and flashed a smile.
Ashley previously revealed that she and husband Michael, who has an estimated net worth of $20 million, according to Page Six reports, had a prenuptial agreement that expired after their fifth year of marriage.
“Michael and I had a prenuptial agreement that expired after five years of marriage. Now I get 50 percent of our wealth in the event of a divorce,” she revealed in season five.
The latest: Darby announced that she and husband Michael Darby, 62, were separating in a statement on Tuesday. The couple were snapped in 2018
She also discussed entering into a post-marital agreement on the show, but admitted during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in 2020 that they hadn’t signed any documents.
“No, we didn’t sign it. I was a little lax just because Michael was at his best, let me tell you. I didn’t have to sniff drawers,’ she said.
Earlier that day, Ashley announced her split from Michael, 62, after more than seven years of marriage.
“When Michael and I said ‘yes’ almost eight years ago, from that moment on we expected to share every single day,” Ashley said in a statement released to The Daily Dish. “Unfortunately, that is not our current reality. We have decided to separate.

“We recognize that there will be many speculative opinions as to why we made this decision. People will quickly assume that the causes were reality TV’s over-intrusion into the most personal parts of our lives, age differences, cultural issues, or differences in child-rearing.
Ashley said the above factors may have affected their “pure love for one another, but neither reason is the root cause of our collective decision to go our separate ways.”
“We are both at very different stages in our lives now and have different goals for our future. We both want the other to find true happiness and fulfillment and feel we cannot do it together.’
The separated couple, who married in May 2014, are parents to sons Dean Michael Darby, two, and Dylan Matthew Darby, one.

“While our romantic bond is broken, we will always love and respect each other,” Ashley said. “We also know that true happiness can only be achieved as we continue to work together and put our heart and soul into raising our two beautiful boys, Dean and Dylan.
“They will always feel loved and supported because they were truly created out of love. As this is a personal matter for us, we appreciate everyone who has been a part of our journey and ask for your continued support in respecting us as we navigate this emotional situation.’

The couple met 11 years ago when she was working at the L2 Lounge in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC, and she asked him if he could consider an internship at his company, she told Bravo in 2016. She asked eventually got him a job at his company and they were hired less than a year later.
Michael, who is in the restaurant and real estate business, was suspended from the Bravo show in September 2018 after he was accused by a cameraman of groping him. He was charged in connection with criminal assault and inappropriate sexual conduct, but the charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence.

Ashley has been a regular on the Bravo series since her debut in 2016
Michael denied the allegations, telling FOX 5 DC that he was “fully exonerated” and “fully acquitted” after an investigation by authorities.
“I didn’t do it,” he said, adding that two witnesses called by his accuser to the incident later said they saw nothing. “Obviously his side of the story wasn’t true.”
The chain of events led to a storyline in the fourth season of RHOP, as he allegedly made a sexually driven remark about cast member Robyn Dixon’s husband, Juan Dixon, which was followed up by Robyn, co-star Candiace Dillard-Bassett, and husband Chris Bassett was attested.
Ashley addressed other marital issues the couple has been facing — such as cheating allegations made on the show — while speaking to E! News in February.
“We definitely had our share of problems [and] Some of them have been very public,” she said. “Ultimately, I think it reminds me that Michael is the person I want to spend my life with.
“So if I can look at him and still love him, still care about him, forgive him and want to move on with him. Then I can’t be influenced by what other people say because the reality is they are not living my life. You are not married to my husband. When I remember it, it centers me and I say, ‘Yes.’ But it’s certainly not an easy thing.’
Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Michael was previously in a marriage for 20 years before separating in 2010 and is the father of two children from the union.
