Louanne de Lesseps says she is recovering just days after making headlines about an alcohol-related incident at a New York City bar.
De Lesseps, also known to viewers of The Real Housewives of New York as “The Countess,” admitted to having “an unfortunate incident” and will “face the truth” from then on.
“I want to apologize to the townhouse staff and anyone I may have offended with my behavior. Clearly my struggle with alcohol is real!” — wrote the 56-year-old star in Instagram.
“Although I have made great strides over the years, there have been times when I have fallen. It’s day by day!” De Lesseps’ statement continues.

The reality TV star went on to say that she is “recovering and taking steps to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
“I am grateful to my family and friends for their continued support,” she said in a statement.

De Lesseps’ apology came two days after Page Six said in a report that a reality TV housewife had made a scene at a gay piano bar in Manhattan. The report cited sources claiming that she “drunk” grabbed a microphone and started singing her own cabaret songs.

A spokesman for de Lesseps did not comment on the situation.
De Lesseps later told Page Six that she was “drinking champagne” that night and went to The Townhouse with “Kinky Boots” producer Jim Kiersted.
“I got up and sang some of the Broadway songs they were playing,” she told the news outlet. “I understand that I was a little tipsy, but we had fun, and it was already late. I was rehearsing and I was in the mood to sing a few songs. Then Jim said to me, “Lou, I have an early rehearsal,” and then we left around midnight, at 11:30 pm.”

Louanne de Lesseps was arrested in December 2017 (Palm Beach County Police Department).
De Lesseps publicly struggled with alcohol. In 2017, a reality housewife was arrested on Christmas Eve in Palm Beach, Florida and charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated, battery of a police officer, resisting arrest with violence, and threatening a public official.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges and was admitted to an alcoholism treatment center shortly thereafter.
