The mother of the Cuban singer and actress Rebeca Martínez died this Thursday afternoon after being admitted in a delicate condition for several days.
Through a publication by Manolo Sabin, composer, artistic director and close friend of the family, we learned of the death of “Pili”, as the artist’s mother was affectionately called.
“Today, August 31, at 4:30 p.m., Pili, as we always affectionately called her, the mother of my goddaughter and lifelong little sister Rebeca Martínez, passed away, many blessings. Pili, you are already in the presence of God, you will always be in our hearts. Words fail me today, but my heart is with you every second, Rebbe,” Sabin wrote on his Facebook profile.
Although Rebeca has not yet commented on her mother’s death, it was only this Wednesday that she left a message about her mother’s fragile health.
“My beautiful family online. Many wrote to me privately, concerned about the absence on the networks. Mami Pili’s health suddenly and rapidly deteriorated, she was admitted to the ward for 9 days and is now in the intensive care unit. We are in the hands of God and science,” wrote Martínez.
In the message, which was attached to a release she made two weeks ago due to her mother’s poor health, Rebeca thanked all her followers and friends for their continued prayers and good thoughts.
“Love is repaid with love,” the artist concluded in her application, which was immediately filled with positive comments and a speedy recovery for her “Mami Pili.”
The dancer and model has commented several times on her social media profiles that her mother has been an irreplaceable support to her throughout her career.
They were seen together in pictures several times, memories that the artist shares with her fans and in which she claims to have inherited her mother’s beauty.
