As part of the Juniana fair, the country’s most important beauty pageant took place this Thursday in San Pero Sula: Miss Honduras Universe 2022, which took place in the Plaza de las Banderas. Rebecca Rodriguezfrom San Pedro Sula, is the new Miss Honduras Universe 2011.
After four years, the outstanding event returned to San Pedro Sula and received the support of Mayor Roberto Contreras.
The candidates were judged by a qualified panel of judges who assessed punctuality, elegance, personality, demeanor, communication and security.
The applicants for the event are Gabriela Navas from Valle; Karla Perdomo from Santa Barbara; Abisag Aguilar from Yoro; Cristhel Marquez from Siguatepeque; Valeria Consuegra from Comayagua; Ana Barahona from Intibucá; Michelle Pineda from La Ceiba and Danubia Ordóñez from Copán.
Also Daniela Mendoza from Yuscarán; Andrea Bardales from Olancho; Samantha Cáceres, by Francisco Morazán; Eunice Argeñal from Santa Lucía; Soad Zambrano from Valle de Angeles; Jaaney Amis Watkins from Tegucigalpa and Rebeca Rodríguez from San Pedro Sula.
Mayor Roberto Contreras explained that all events that take place during the June fair create a burial of more than 500 million lempiras in the city.
Qualifying Jury: Wendy Salgado, Luis Ortega, María Durón, Francis Van Tuyl, Isis Cordova, Maritza de Lara, Iroshka Elvir, Júnior Zelaya, Alexa Solórzano Darol Alfaro and Leudys Gonzalez.
Of the 17 original candidates, 2 did not enter the competition: Miss Roatán and Tela. The first because his nerves failed him; while the second could not travel due to personal reasons (she lives in New York).
The red carpet parade of the 15 contestants for Miss Honduras Universe 2022 took place alongside the former beauty queens from previous competitions. Finally, Rose Meléndez, the outgoing queen, marched onto the main stage.
After the swimsuit parade, in which the beautiful participants wore two-piece suits and a beach outing, renowned Sampedrano artist Daniel Ochoa wowed the audience with his magnificent rendition of various musical hits including: “My Way” and “New York” by Frank Sinatra.
Minutes after Daniel Ochoa’s presentation began, the catwalk continued with the gala dress segment. In honor of the 15th anniversary of Grupo Carimaxx, the color red was chosen for the clothing of the participants.
The eight finalists are San Pedro Sula, Santa Bárbara, La Ceiba, Valle, Siguatepeque, Yoro, Intibucá and Tegucigalpa.
