Rebel Wilson Shares Honest Message About Weight Gain While Posing in Swimsuit

Rebel Wilson openly shared that she's gained back some of the weight she recently lost and has been open about the conflicting feelings she's feeling as a result.

“Through all the hard work, I gained 30 pounds (14 kg) despite all the stress,” she captioned a Jan. 15 Instagram post. “It makes me feel bad… it shouldn't… but it does.”

Wilson revealed that a hectic work schedule contributed to her weight gain. “It was just a LOT and I lost focus on my healthy lifestyle,” she wrote.

But she ended her message on a positive note, adding: “I'm really proud of the work I've done on my new films and my memoirs.”

The “Bridesmaids” actress lost 77 pounds during her “year of health” in 2020, TODAY.com previously reported. She documented her progress and shared the ups and downs of maintaining weight loss. Walking helped her stay active and she appreciated being able to do it anywhere, which was important because of her filming schedule.

“It's all about keeping the body moving and keeping the blood moving,” she told TODAY in 2021. “I feel like sometimes people think you have to train your body really hard to get results to achieve, and yeah, if you trained for it Next Thor or something you could do hardcore stuff, but as a normal person, running is just so healthy for you. The body is designed to move this way.”

In the past, Wilson said she focused on developing healthy habits rather than a specific weight goal and practiced being kind to herself.

“Don't blame yourself if you've been unhealthy in the past, because I definitely had unhealthy habits,” the Pitch Perfect actor said. “But it’s no use beating yourself up. It's more about saying, “Okay, I'm going to do this for myself.”… Try different lifestyle habits throughout the year that are positive and healthy and see what results you get. Any steps you take toward better health are a plus.”

Wilson had previously confronted the weight gain on social media.

“I'm at a fantastic all-inclusive resort. … I have lost all self-control,” she wrote on Instagram in July 2022. “But, you know what? I can get up tomorrow, go to the gym, hydrate, eat healthy and love myself.”

She added that she is not a number on the scale.

“If you’re like me,” she said, “just know that YOU are more than just your weight.”
